Final Fantasy XIII-2: Noel Gets His Own Special “Calamity Blade” Weapon in the Square Enix e-Shop

In previous news, I revealed that a special weapon for Serah was up for grabs for HMV and Lawsons buyers who pre-order a copy of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 game. Interestingly enough, it looks like Square Enix will be making a special weapon for Noel as well. In a nutshell, those who purchase the game by means of Square Enix’s e-Shop will receive this weapon.

It has been confirmed that Noel’s special weapon is called “Calamity Blade,” which is a twin blade that has the capability of recharging his ATB gauge much faster than usual.

As outlined in the product listing page of the e-Shop website, the special weapon will show its effect from the start of the game, up until the halfway mark. Currently, there are no spoilers that interpret what exactly this means, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Who knows? Maybe Noel’s power will reach an apex to the point where he doesn’t even need the weapon anymore. Or, maybe Noel will possibly even gain a new ability that requires a different type of weapon to be used in order to trigger it. Of course, this is all mere speculation.

In addition to the bonus download content, the e-Shop has promised to reveal a screenshot of the Calamity Blade sometime in the near future since we don’t know what the weapon looks like as of now.

Basically, those who make an online purchase will receive a complimentary PC wallpaper calendar set as well.
